Volunteers also make it possible for us to provide services to the community and participate in events and fundraisers. You can volunteer on a regular basis or every now and then when you have spare time. It's totally up to you!

Volunteer Areas
Animal Handler/Training
We have several animals that need more interaction. For various reasons, we get dogs who are shy and need to work with a human to get comfortable. We do not accept aggressive animals, so this does not include aggressive behaviors. We also have animals with other behavior issues or lack of training that you can work with them on. You must be comfortable with large dogs and over the age of 18.
Summer Intern Program
We have a summer program designed specifically for volunteers 13 years of age or older. CLICK HERE for more info. (Application window March 1 - May 20)
Rescue/Networking
This area includes researching and finding rescues and placement for animals that need to be transferred out of our shelter for various reasons. This would be a lot of computer time with some phone calls and emails to communicate with other rescues.
Data Entry
We have many programs and databases to store animal data and shelter maintenance information that need to be kept up on a regular basis. We would train on individual programs that you will be working with. This position would be available any of our operational hours for you to come in and work on our computer. Basic computer skills are the only requirement.
Social Media
Social media is our largest form of marketing the animals and is very important! We need volunteers to help take pictures of the animals, create content, and help engage our audience on our social media platforms. You must be familiar with Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Knowledge of Google Drive and Canva is a bonus! If you enjoy taking pictures or creating TikToks then you can do it to help animals find homes!
Marketing
We do not have staffing to be able to get out and market for us. Since we are a non-profit and do not receive any funds from the city, county, or state, we rely on donations and membership heavily! We need someone willing and able to work on gaining more business sponsors.
Group Activities
If you have an organization that is interested in volunteering as a group, we can accommodate that! It can be for just an hour or several hours. Let us know how we can help you!
Questions?
If you have any questions about volunteering, let us know! You can call during our regular hours Wednesday through Friday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
